Gender based Violence course

Gender based Violence course

The Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Course is designed to provide both individuals and organizations with the essential knowledge and practical skills to address, prevent, and effectively respond to gender-based violence. GBV is a pervasive global issue, particularly affecting women and girls, who are subjected to violence, exploitation, and discrimination based on their gender. This course will equip participants with the tools to understand its root causes, identify the signs, and implement interventions to protect vulnerable populations while advancing gender equality.

This training will explore the different forms of GBV—physical, sexual, emotional, and economic abuse—while also focusing on the cultural, social, and legal systems that perpetuate violence. Participants will be guided through strategies for transforming these frameworks to create safer, more inclusive communities. Additionally, the course will teach how to integrate gender-responsive approaches into organizational policies and development programs to ensure long-term solutions to GBV.

Participants will engage in practical training that covers how to deliver response services, including legal assistance, medical care, and psychosocial support for survivors. The course will also highlight the role of key stakeholders—such as government agencies, NGOs, and local leaders—in addressing GBV. Using real-world case studies, the course will demonstrate successful approaches to reducing GBV across diverse settings, such as conflict zones, urban environments, and marginalized communities.

Upon completion, participants will be able to design and implement GBV prevention and response strategies, build multi-sectoral partnerships, and contribute to breaking the cycle of violence by supporting survivor recovery and empowerment.
